For this activity I have chosen to use a screen shot of Philip Gatward who plays the role of a doctor in our horror media project ‘Taken’. As his comparison I have chosen to use an image of Petr Janis who plays the role to the German surgeon in the real media product ‘Hostel’. I don’t believe that either character I have used for this evaluation activity is an accurate representation of a particular social ground as they are both surgeon/doctors who kill their victims.
The fact that they are both surgeons/doctors is a similarity which may be used to compare the two characters from each media project. Both characters within the screen shots look to wear similar costumes in the respect that they are both wearing aprons and a long sleeved shirt which is a good comparison. Both of the characters also play the same kind of role which is to kill/torture their victims however there is a difference between these characters as in the film ‘Hostel’ the plot of the story is different to ours and ‘the German surgeon’ pays for auctioned victims where as Philip ‘the doctor’ on out media project tortures abducted victims.
